Witness the power of nature as you stand in awe of the cascading Murchison Falls, and embark on a thrilling safari to spot the Big Five in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where you’ll witness elephants, hippos, and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Experience the diverse landscapes of Uganda, from the lush rainforest to the vast savannah plains. This 5-day itinerary is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the wonders of Uganda’s natural world

    Day 1: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

     You will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala after breakfast and start the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive will take approximately 5 hours with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided nature walk to see the rhinos.

    Upon arrival at the park, check-in at your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, take a boat ride on the Nile River to the bottom of the falls. This is a great opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

    Accommodation options:

      • Paraa Safari Lodge: A luxury lodge with 54 rooms and suites overlooking the Nile River. The lodge has a swimming pool and a spa.
      • Pakuba Safari Lodge: A mid-range lodge with 32 rooms and suites overlooking the Albert Nile. The lodge has a restaurant, a bar, and a swimming pool.

    Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Ride

     After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive through the park. Murchison Falls National Park is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, lions, and buffaloes. There is also a good chance of spotting leopards and hyenas.

    Return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation time. In the afternoon, take another boat ride on the Nile River to the delta where the river flows into Lake Albert. This is a great opportunity to see more wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles, and water birds.

    Day 3: Top of the Falls and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

     After breakfast, drive to the top of Murchison Falls for a stunning view of the waterfall. This is a great photo opportunity, and you can also hike down to the bottom of the falls if you wish.

    After lunch, check out of your lodge and start the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive will take approximately 4 hours. Upon arrival, check-in at your lodge and have dinner.

      • Enganzi Game Lodge: A mid-range lodge with 8 cottages and 6 tents overlooking the park. The lodge has a restaurant and a bar.

    Day 4: Game Drive and Boat Safari

    After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive through the park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, and antelopes. There is also a good chance of spotting leopards and hyenas.

    Return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation time. In the afternoon, take a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. This is a great opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.

    Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Departure

     After breakfast, go on a chimpanzee tracking safari in Kyambura Gorge. This is a great opportunity to see the chimpanzees in their natural habitat and learn about their behavior from the ranger guides.

    After the tracking safari, return to the lodge for lunch and check out. Start the journey back to Kampala with a stopover at the Equator for some photo opportunities and souvenir shopping. Drop off at your hotel or the airport for your onward journey.
