Detailed Itinerary of 3 days Rwanda Gorilla trek and visist to musanze caves
Day one: Drive to Volcanoes national park
On arrival, you will be driven to volcanoes national park by your guide/ driver. The journey is about 2-3 hours, check in at your lodge and rest as prepare ahead for a busy day ahead of you tomorrow. Dinner and overnight at Igangi park view lodge, Mountain gorilla view lodge or Virunga Inn and spa.
Day two: Gorilla trekking
Wake very early around 6 am, after a very early breakfast, en route to volcanoes national park for briefing about the trekking, the dos and don’ts around the gorillas’ caution and the gorilla trekking rules. Drive to the starting point to search for your gorilla family assigned to you. On finding your gorilla family, you will be allowed one hour to bond with the gorillas take pictures and be sure of safety as your ranger is always armed to scare off anything that could be of danger in the jungle, after which you will return back to your lodge for lunch. Optional visit of the Ellen foundations museum after which you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight as above.
Day three: Visit the Musanze caves and drive for a boat cruise at the craters
After an early Breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters in Kinigi town for briefing after which you will go to the Musanze caves, and find out how they were formed and how important they are to the locals. Photos here are very impressive with good views of the green vegetation and also an aerial view of the volcanoes.
After your experience here proceed to Musanze on the road that leads to the border of Rwanda and Uganda Cyanika border as you enjoy the view of Mountain Muhavura in its footstool, branch off and head off to the famous twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo for a memorable boat cruise. Find out about how these lakes were for enjoying a panomera view from Virunga Hotel that will allow you to see the beauty of how these two lakes are connected. Drive back to the airport for your flight or overnight in Kigali.
