Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest
Your safari starts when you arrive in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. Upon arrival, your guide will warmly welcome you and give you a short briefing about your 3-day gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi from Kigali. Soon after, you will begin your journey to Bwindi in the southwestern part of Uganda. The journey is about 4 to 5 hours driving through beautiful rolling hills, green tea plantations, and small local villages. You will cross the border and, with the help of your guide, clear the immigration offices. After arriving in Bwindi, check in and spend the day relaxing.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and visit the Batwa community
After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers about the gorilla trekking activity. During the briefing, the park rangers will explain the rules and assign you a gorilla family to track. Experienced trackers will guide you on a deep forest hike to locate a gorilla group. The trek can take between 2 and 6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family and how far they have moved. The forest is thick, and the paths are sometimes thick and slippery, but the experience is worth every step. After locating the gorillas, spend one hour observing their way of life in their habitat. The forest is dense, and the trails can be both challenging and slippery; however, the experience is truly rewarding. After locating the gorillas, you will have one hour to observe their behavior in their natural habitat. During this time, you may witness them feeding, playing, interacting, and grooming the young while capturing photographs and videos. Following the trek, you will return to your accommodation for lunch.

They were the original inhabitants of Bwindi Forest, living together with the gorillas before it was gazetted as a national park. The Batwa will share their stories, perform traditional dances, and show you how they lived in harmony with nature for generations. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali and city tour
Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation, after which you will begin your journey back to Kigali. Driving through the beautiful countryside with incredible views, you will arrive in the city. Depending on your flight schedule, you will visit some of the major places in Kigali, including the Genocide Memorial Centre, the Convention Centre, and the craft markets for souvenirs.
