In search of food and water, well over two million wildebeests, zebras, and other grazers move through the Serengeti and Maasai Mara habitats during the Great Wildebeest Migration. This annual movement is considered one of the biggest animal migrations in the world, starting in the southern Serengeti in Tanzania and going north to the Maasai Mara in Kenya.

Most people think that gorilla trekking in Rwanda is less difficult and more accessible than in Uganda, but that trekking in Uganda is more exciting and demanding. Hikes in Rwanda tend to be on better-maintained, open terrain, but those in Uganda tend to be on steeper, muddier paths through dense forests. Both the views of Kilimanjaro and the abundance of elephants in Amboseli National Park are really breathtaking. Tsavo, on the other hand, is renowned for its diverse landscapes and peculiar species, such as the “red elephants” that live in Tsavo West.

Although they are distinct in style and emphasis, boat safaris in Tanzania’s Selous Game Reserve and Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park both provide exceptional chances to see exotic animals.
